Medalja je izdana u povodu stogodišnjice smrti Louisa Braillea. Na aversu je reljefni portret L. Braillea s latiničnim natpisom imena te godinom rođenja i smrti. Na reversu je latinicom i Brailleovim pismom otisnuto: Et la lumiere fut.
