description:

The sculpture shows the figure of an old woman. A frail, hunched old woman with a scarf on her head, carries a small bandage in her left hand and leans on a stick with her right. The bent body and the left leg in a slight step suggest a tired and slow movement. The surface of the sculpture, restless and unsmoothed, reveals traces of tools and fingers, flickeringly refracts the light and enhances the impression of the figure's fragility. In such a small format, the author managed to achieve an almost archetypal representation of all old women bent over by age and adversity, a representation that evokes sympathy and compassion.
